Ingredients
1 lb of lean pork (grounded)
1 package of wonton wrappers
1 (8 ounce) canned package of bamboo shoots, drained and finely chopped
1 (8 ounce) canned package of water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
1 medium sized carrot, finely chopped
8 garlic cloves medium sized
1 medium onion, diced
1 large egg
2 teaspoons of soy sauce
1 teaspoon grated ginger (fresh)
1 teaspoon spicy black pepper
The sauce
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons of water
1 teaspoon of soy sauce
2-3 teaspoon grated ginger (fresh)
1 teaspoon cornstarch, combines with the water
Making:
1. In a large sized bowl, mix the pork, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, carrot, garlic, onion, soy sauce, ginger and pepper powder.
2. Stir the mixture around until completely combined (you can also just place it in the refrigerator overnight).
3. Set out around 10 wonton wrappers and roll the meat mixture into cigar shapes about cigar thickness and the wrapper length.
4. Roll the meat in the wrapper, brush the ends with beaten egg to complete the roll to seal.
5. Place the item seam side down on a baking sheet and repeat process until done.
6. Bake in a preheated stove at 450 degrees for about 20 min. (until the wrappers are cooked golden brown), turn them once (or more in necessary).
7. Serve hot with the sauce for dipping.
8. To make the sauce: mix together the vinegar, brown sugar and soy sauce in a large pan.
9. Stir over high heat stove top until the sugar dissolves completely.
14. Mix the cornstarch/water and add to the sugar mixture previously made, stir until it boils.
15. Take off the heat and stir in the fresh ginger.
Serve and enjoy!
